Communication and Feedback
Most sellers dread the problem transaction that can bring a negative feedback. These transactions can happen when the wrong item is sent, an item gets lost in the mail or when communication simply goes haywire. These transactions may not happen very often, but once or twice is enough to wreak havoc on a seller’s feedback score. A lot of sellers assume that there’s no way to get out of getting a negative feedback when they’ve made a mistake or come across a particularly difficult buyer. Fortunately, most of the time a negative can be prevented.
Communication is the key to making a buyer feel like they are getting the attention they deserve. The main cause of negatives is a buyer who simply feels like the seller has let them down. If you can let a buyer know that you do care about the transaction and that you are trying your best to rectify it, chances are that the buyer will not be leaving a negative. Stay in communication- send an email each day about what you are doing to help rather than one email to explain everything. In the end, you may even receive a positive telling you how much they appreciated the help and attention.
