Third Party Auction Sniping
I don’t know how many people ever used the eBay auction sniping function, and it couldn’t have been very many since the program was scrapped due to non-use. But if you ever got into automatic auction sniping, there are third-party auction sniping sites that will do it for you for a fee.
One of these is called esnipe. At esnipe.com eBay members can sign up to have the site snipe auctions for them, meaning that no one has to sit by their computers and stare at the numbers in order to put in a good snipe. How well does it work? I haven’t used the site, so I can’t say for sure. I do know, however, that the site has been around for seven or eight years and has been used consistently, so there are those who think it’s worthwhile.
