One Neutral Feedback

Published by beakerwriter at 9:53 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I got a neutral feedback yesterday. This makes my first neutral or negative feedback in two years. It’s irritating, particularly since the customer was such a jerk to begin with. But, how much does a neutral really affect sales?

I think that often, one single neutral or negative feedback doesn’t do a heck of a lot. Most buyers are reasonable people who realize that one crank doesn’t spell doom for everything that a person sells. There have also been 11 glowing positives since that neutral, so it is being buried very quickly.

The question now is the proper protocol for responding. I might have responded in kind back when the feedback system was fair. I have been seeing sellers leave positives for buyers with angry language in the positive to try to turn it into a negative. I don’t believe in doing this. I think that most people look at the scores and don’t read the individual feedback words. If I were to go the “green negative” route as some people call it, the buyer would simply get a shiny new positive feedback and a better feedback rating number. No thanks. I’ll simply flip them the bird from my position here at home and leave the situation as it is.

Ebay has gotten really horrible. Everyone is bound to get a bad customer who wants everything for nothing. It’s hard enough to make anything with postage rates being so expensive. I’ve not done business since I got a woman who tried everything to get a refund for something. She bought a lot of new & used diaper bag, changing pad, and a bunch of other supplies and only paid about $4 plus free s&h. So, really I was out of more than I earned. She in turn, left the package outside and it rained soaking everything inside. Instead of accepting the fact that she didn’t pay extra for insurance like I suggested, and that exactly what I warned of her of happened she blamed me for her mistake of not answering the delivery and leaving it outside in the rain. Thankfully, I heard no more complaining or asking for a refund after I gave her the information form the delivery confirmation in which the delivery person said that they attempted delivery several times and she never answered the door, so they left it on her apartment step. I checked the weather for the delivery date, and of course it was raining heavily that day. The person was also nice enough to note that on the confirmation. After letting her know all of this, she finally stopped bothering me. Thankfully, she left no feedback at all after she figured out she couldn’t keep the items and get her money back. I found a different auction site which I joined. I hope you don’t encounter anymore of these terrible buyers. Ebay really needs to take a second look at their policies on this. I plan on blogging about this new auction site I’ve joined. The fees there are much lower than Ebay, but they need more members. So keep an eye out, I’ll most likely be posting about this auction site today.
